I missed the final of the World Championships in 2009, but I told the coach I would break the world record in 2010. Which I did. Then in 2011 I won the World Championships and now in 2012 it is the Olympics. That is how I have been working.
David Rudisha
Starting out as a junior varsity coach in high school you pick up things along the way and put them all together. Something has gotta come out of it. It's basically stuff I picked up from other people.
Pete Carril
The main thing I do now is I coach kids, and all of these stories along the way are based in reality.
Craig Johnston
I think there's an awful lot of ball players with great skills, but whether or not they're going to be on winning teams is not going to be answered until you see how they fit in to a team or a program. If they don't, it may be their fault or it may be their coaches.
Tex Winter
'Stay with it' was our coach's motto. That's what we did. This is unreal!
Andre Iguodala
There is something about Game 7 that there's a memory there for you for sure. You want to be a coach or a manager or a player or a goaltender that gets it done, because to me, that's all part of sports. That's what you dream about when you're a little kid - scoring the winning goal.
Mike Babcock

Bob Griese
A life of frustration is inevitable for any coach whose main enjoyment is winning.
Chuck Noll

Jack Welch
You should always want your coach to be critical. It gives you an opportunity to learn and to overcome adversity
Steve Nash
You never realize the value of coaching until your children play for a coach
Don Meyer
You're always trying to motivate your players. There's a time and a place for a speech that would try to motivate your players, especially if as a coach you knew that the cards were stacked against you a little bit.
Vince Kehres
I think having a coach or an editor or whatever the novelist's producer is could help. If you finish a chapter and you turn it in to him, and he or she said, That was pretty good, it might go better. Maybe that's what I'll try to find.
Craig Finn
Some of these kids are spending more time with the coaches than they are with their parents. The coach is supposed to be raising these kids, not belittling them and talking to them like the world is coming to an end.
Ray Lewis
I have a coach but there's nobody at my level in Gaza. I have to do most of my training sessions on my own.
Nader al-Masri
You learn from everybody. You learn from the players. You learn from great coaches. You learn from great teams
Tom Thibodeau
I don't blame the players, I don't blame the parents, I blame programs and I blame the coaches.
Tony DiCicco
If you want to win, do the ordinary things better than anyone else does them day in and day out.
Chuck Noll
We coaches have to learn how to deal with that: How do I get to each one best - with a talk, with video analysis? And what sort of tone? We need our own coaches for that. The sports psychologist coaches me too.
Jurgen Klinsmann
When you coach as long as I did, you can't help but miss those Saturdays - dealing with the players, the game preparation, the challenges, the excitement
Tom Osborne
I was a good decathlete until I got with a coach that really knew how to train specifically for the event... I'd really describe it as like being a juggler you have ten balls and you're trying to get them all in the air at the same time.
Dan O'Brien
A great coach can lead you to a place where you don't need him any more.
Andre Agassi
I coach my daughter's softball and basketball team. We go to all the school functions. We go out to eat at night and take the kids to the movies. We try to be as normal as we can.
Tim McGraw
I was fortunate to be around a couple of coaches who took me under their wing and taught me how to train, how to work and how to prepare myself for a game. They gave me so much, and I saw the passion they had for the game and for teaching it. What I learned from them led me to want to become a teacher and coach.
