I gave away two dogs years ago because I felt guilty at not being able to give them the time and attention they deserved. I now regularly feed an army of squirrels and wild birds around our house.

A life sentence without parole protects public safety while sparing us the barbarity of killing our own. It teaches our children that violence will be punished, but not by emulating the violent. This seems eminently more consistent with American ideals than continuing to share the killing stage with some of the world's worst human rights violators.

I believe that no one should be executed, guilty or innocent. There are appropriate sanctions that protect society and punish wrongdoers without forcing us to stoop to the level of the least among us at his or her worst moment.

What we are seeing here is environmental injustice

Its mostly the financial chicanery thats going on. People are saying What kind of trust can we put in this market?

My dreams for the future are simple: work, a happy, healthy family, a lovely long motorcycle ride, and continuing the struggle to awaken people to the need for serious human rights reform.

We have seen economic growth. But we have not seen earnings growth.

It is inappropriate for the Bush administration to trump up a case in which we are ballyhooed into war.

What one gets, I hope, is that all you can do is the best you can do.

If you try to do your best there is no failure.
