I succeed on my own personal motivation, dedication, and commitment. My mindset is: If I'm not out there training, someone else is.

Running reminded me exactly who I am and what I am made of.

Every athlete has doubts. Elite runners in particular are insecure people. You need someone to affirm that what you are doing is right.

I brought killer intensity to my workouts… It’s not enough to just show up and do the workout. You have to bring something to it… What was your intention? If you are not believing with all fervour and relentlessness in what it is you want to do, no one is going to do that for you.

The footing was really atrocious. I loved it. I really like Cross Country you're one with the mud.
